Products-Siemens Simatic S5 upgarde to Simatic S7
Various
stocks of S5 and S7 modules assure that we can fully test
the target S5 and S7 PLC's during upgrade preparation. Thus
guaranty a speedy and accurate S5 to S7 upgrade.laboratory
1. Eight Simatic S5-115U networked with
SINEC H1
2. Each S5 contained up to 400/300 DI/DO, 20AI/10AO
3. Some S5 had point-to-point interface to third party equipment
with CP525
4. All S5 had HMI realised by OP15 and OP17
5. Some S5 had up to ten PID loops for flow, presure, moisture,
temperature.
6. The plant was controlled by two PC servers running Windows
NT and Intouch 6.0B
Process of upgrade:
1. Shut down PLC one-by-one during the upgrade
process
2. Each shut-down lasted for at most two days (Saturday and
Sunday) to replace both PLC hardware and software
3. The plant was basically non-stop during the complete upgrade
process
After upgrade:
1. Eight Simatic S7-400 PLC networked with 100M
Industrial Ethernet
2. All I/O's changed to ET200M
3. All third party equipment connected with CP341 point-to-point
4. All HMI changed to TP177B
5. All PID loops tuned and optimized
6. Two new PC servers now runs Windows 2000 and Intouch 9.5.
Senario B
1. Similar to A. but the S5 were mixed with
S5-155U, S5-115U, S5-135U
2. The connection between PLC and Scada was via Profibus FMS
(CP5431)
3. The Sacada was proprietary product
4. The upgrade process was also non-stop
5. S7-400, WinCC, Industrial Ethernet were used
Senario C
Before upgrade:

2. Contains up to 200/200 DI/DO, 12AI/10AO with old S5 ET200
3. Have point-to-point interface to third party equipment
with CP525
4. HMI realised by CP581 and C?T with touch screen running
proprietary HMI software
5. S5 has IP244 temperature PID loops and WF707 fast counter
connected to rotary encoder
Process of upgrade:
1. Shut down PLC for one week during the upgrade
process
After upgrade:
1. One Simatic Simatic S7-400 networked with
100M Industrial Ethernet
2. All I/O's changed to ET200eco
3. Third party equipment connected with CP341 point-to-point
4. HMI changed to Simatic PC577 and WinCC Flecxible 2007
5. S7 with FM355 temperature PID loops and FM352 cam module
connected to rotary encoder
